Sub - "...they {China} can now import Canadian oil piped to Texas by good ole America". Just as they can import good ole oil produced in Texas. Just the rest of the world was able to import oil produced in the US since there WAS NEVER AN EXPORT BAN.
From the day the "export ban" became law the US has exported over 1.5 BILLION BBLS OF OIL produced in the country. In fact, in 2015, the year immediately BEFORE President Obama "rescinded" the so called export ban the US exported 170 MILLION BBLS OF OIL.
Easy enough to prove the US govt has never enforced a ban on exporting US oil: the same US govt provides the proof:
https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafH ... rexus2&f=aAnd of that 170 MILLION BBLS of oil exported in 2015 from the US it wasn't Canadian oil re-exported to China. It was 156 MILLION BBLS of US produced oil exported to Canada. And once more the proof provided by the US govt:
https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafH ... rexca1&f=aAdditionally it was primarily light condensate mostly from the Eagle Ford Shale production in S Texas. Some went to eastern Canadian refineries to blend with heavy oil imports and the rest (about 350,000 bbls/day) to Alberta to blend with the oil sands production. That 12° API oil blended with the US condensate created 23° API "dilbit" that could be pumped via pipelines to the US. Typically the dilbit would be diluted with more condensate to produce the 31° API required by the refineries.
Still amazes the Rockman how many folks (some who are really smart) still accept the 100% bullsh*t propaganda tossed out about the export of US oil.
