The last time Indonesia did this the peat caught fire and burned for over a year causing terrible air quality in some of their most populated cities. I guess they didn't learn from that experience...

Yeah, one of those times that burning peat accounted for some double digit percentage of CO2 emissions for that year, iirc.

We all just seem to be getting dumber and dumberer. Maybe there's something to cid's point about CO2 levels making us stupider already.
