.
what "dangerous climate change " are we talking about exactly ?
So far it's mostly hot air in blogs ,
not much impact on the ground .... record harvests ... polar ice a bit ho hum but nothing drastic
all the apocalyptic predictions sounding like yesterday guys at the street corner with a placard "doom is at hand "
I'm OK with the concept of us screwing the planet but how about some facts ,
what exactly has happened which is more dangerous than 7 billions homicidal apes breeding like rabbits and
running loose chopping and eating everything in sight

The observable changes are pretty obvious.

Temperatures are increasing - the key that connects all the following

Sea levels are rising - we're seeing more coastal flooding and a rise in storm surges.

Sea ice is melting - aside from the destruction of native wildlife, we're witnessing the loss of one of the important mechanisms that play a role in regulating our climate,

Precipitation patterns are changing - leading to increases in drought conditions, as well as heavy precipitation. This is affecting even now the world's breadbasket here in the US.

Oceans are acidifying - figuring into the current destruction of the world's coral reefs and the major habitat for the planet's marine life. Along with over fishing this will mean a loss to one the Earth's major sources of protein. This is also destroying one of nature's carbon syncs. The pH of surface seawater has decreased by 0.1 units since 1750, and is projected to drop another 0.5 units by 2100.

Most people don't recognize how the world is changing around them. As long as they can get up and perform the same blind routine everyday.
The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life.

As someone who experienced the extreme cold weather in Eastern North America last winter I would add temperature extremes as another observable sign of climate change. We are seeing more situations where some part of the world is experiencing an extended period of extreme hot or cold temperatures. It seems to be an annual event now for some part of the Northern Hemisphere to experience extreme cold temperatures in winter. Not surprisingly, it is a lot easier to sell people on the idea that an extended period of extreme hot weather is related to climate change than an extended period of extreme cold weather.
