That wouldn't work to well in the America, we stuff our dead with a mix of horrible toxic chemical preservatives that are poisonous.

I suppose a bear could eat me when I pass. I'm Ok with that.

Although I was leaning toward the tree cocoon thing.

There’s a strange irony related to this subject [oil and gas extraction] that the better you do the job at exploiting this oil and gas, the sooner it is gone.

Bears at our hunting cabin just LUV anti freeze. Got to lockout up real good.

I think it's the karma that would leave a bad taste in their mouth.

Oughta just leave the bodies out on the ice - or tundra- like the natives used to do.
Humans eat bears - seems kinda fitting that they get a bite in once in a while.

I guess Asian Bears aren't satisfied with just stealing picnic baskets anymore?

Actually It would be a reasonable thing for humans to do on a grand scale.. That is giving the biomass back to nature willingly with as much of the food chain to benefit from it and a top predator seems like a good start. And the supply of "food" is endless.

But it would probably mean the carnivores will die from poisoning :-(

And humans in general are not reasonable.. Its just: plunder nature - end of story.

Burning and burial seems like a silly and wasterful protest against giving nature back its due.

Why would you deny the insects, worms and plant roots the bounty of a buried corpse? If it were not for the embalming process the body would quickly be consumed by everything from decay bacteria up the food chain so why are you hating on the small life that lives in the ground?

Even if you cremate a body, if you scatter the ashes the chemicals act as plant fertilizer. The volatile components, mostly carbon dioxide and water vapor, add to the air food for the plants and future precipitation to water their roots.

When the predator dies (the bear) the insects gets their due together with the plants. Its just postponed a little for the bear to make use of the biomass.

What i meant is that human biomass should trickle down through the system.

If you dig it down 6 ft then it will take forever - if ever - to be used in "higher" lifeforms.
If you burn it a lot of good molecules are broken down with no benefit - but actually a sink instead.
