We cannot drill our way out of this oil crisis. Since 2000, oil companies working in the U.S. have doubled the number of wells drilled per year.

Although increased drilling has added new oil to the nation's supply, it has not done so fast enough to offset the terminal decline of existing fields.

We are going to have to import more of our oil. Period.

If you have made it past the discovery, research and discussion phase and are looking for ways to cope with Peak Oil on a personal as well as global basis, hopefully this forum will help.

This is not a Survivalist or Doomers forum; this forum exists to discuss solutions to possible future problems related to the decline of cheap energy. Please post other topics elsewhere.

Exclamation Please stay on topic and post in a civil manner. Personal attacks and ideological rants not only detract from the readability and informative value of threads but also inhibit lurkers from joining the conversation.

POSTING
And before starting a new thread, always look in the categorized threads in the one of the following thread lists;

- Assessment, Planning, and Doing
- Food Production
- Food Preservation
- Relocalization and Transportation
- Water
- Shelter

...at the top of the first page that is appropriate for your post. If one of the threads is on the right topic, but does not answer your question, post your question in that thread. If there isnt an appropriate thread, look back a few page s and resurrect one if you can there is a significant amount of information in prior threads.

If you arent able to find the information you were looking for at all, feel free to post a new one, but please preface the title of your thread with a subject, like this: [Food] or [Garden].

Thanks. Smile
