Don’t worry, just a little bump - $70 is just around the corner. Short traders just keep making those margin calls, mortgage the house if you have to. Fortunes await you! PO is for pansies and doomers. At $70 short some more ..... it is going back to $22 .... the world is awash with oil ........ reality has nothing to do with it, its all in those charts!!!!!!!!!!

There are 3 good things to have in a battery, then you need a good casing: electrolyte, anode, cathode.
Repairing them depends on the metals used and the electrolyte involved. Acid or alkali materials tend to be highly corrosive and replacing electrodes without having to redo the entire case would be something of a trick unless the battery is designed for rebuilds.
Tell me more.
In the meantime, some helpful words from our friends at OSHA:

In the United States battery replacement is a worldwide 17 billion dollar market. Around 75% of these “starting”, “power”, “stand-by”, “industrial”, “marine” and all types of lead-acid batteries have stopped working prematurely, due to the accumulation of lead sulphate crystals on the plates.
With an estimated 100 million cars in the US and over 500 gozillion cars worldwide, this may present a useful skill.
Cars, trucks, tractors, boats, RVs, motorcycles, riding lawn mowers, ATVs, planes, jet-skis, golf carts, even some wheelchairs, all have batteries. Peak Oil demands a reduction in use. Many of these vehicles will fall into disuse along with their batteries.
Home power generation is much more convenient with a storage device.
Scavenging, combined with this skill, would seem to present a significant barter option.
I surely do not have the time to pick this up as another project. It may be a prudent thing to have detailed instructions on hand. It may be that someone in your community would have the time and ambition to tackle this project. _________________ If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face--for ever."
