Thanks for that post. It gives me some hope that even car enthusiasts can be objective. Maybe there is hope my dad who sells cars for a living will turn around. |

...lol, I wanted a Ferrari or Lamborghini and a personal 14 passengers private jet to travel through the world. And I wanted them before being 30 year old! But I've deleted the photos of sport cars in my Mac's hard drive. _________________ anagami.net |

This isn't easy. Somebody's already interested in my Cobra. |

Keep one of them and roll the proceeds of selling the others into converting the remaining one into a lithium powered electric hotrod. That's about as close as you'll come to having your cake and eating it too. |

Don't worry: cars will be very cheap shortly. You'll be able to get as many as you'd like.
Sell your mustangs now, make a nice lump of cash ...
... and then buy them all back for a few chickens and a bag of beans in 5 years. _________________ Collapse-prep Intentional Community forming outside of Austin, TX. PM me if interested. |

| Weirdest day of my life. Out of the blue the previous owner of one of my cars calls me this morning and wants to buy it back. 6 hours later he is driving it back to the east coast. In the middle of all this, the power company shows up and cuts down a tree in my yard and leaves me the wood. It should last me half the winter should natural gas have a super spike too. So weird. |

So, do folks think electric-biofuel hybrids will take the place of gas-powered cars?
Yep, the denial will last up into the $5 to $6 range. After that expect to see more anger along with the barganing we have already seen.
Then around $8 to $10/gallon there will be disbelief.
Maybe around $12/gallon folks will believe oil has peaked.
Around $15/gallon maybe they will not put such faith in oil sands and shale.
At $20/gallon, maybe coal-to gas conversion will be employed on a large scale.
I actually expect gas prices to head up to around $44 to $50/gallon within 40 years.

Back to the topic of this post..
Denial is unfortunately a very strong reaction in many people. Focus your attentions on receptive minds. It's not your job to open peoples minds. That's almost impossible. Instead, fill the minds you find open with knowledge.
Reminded me of another quote I love. I know I'm getting it wrong cause it's one am, but...
" Do not seek to bend the spoon. That is impossible. Rather, realize that there is no spoon, and it is yourself that is bending."
I should go to bed, I'm quoting the Matrix. _________________ Azreal60

People always listen when they start to suffer.
When they don't like what they hear, they will kill you.
So it is best to not speak unless you are spoken to and dont tell them everything. Just tell them not to buy any long playing records. _________________ Be ready... |
