after 10 tries at posting a reply I am giving up.
The accusation against Uribe was made in 2001 and was denied (he wasn't even in the country then) and this has been described by the US as propaganda.
There are a host of reports coming from former FARC members who indicate the links between Venezuela and trafficking.
I'd love to post all that but this thread appears not to want me to.
I have many many friends in Bogota all of whom are thankful for the improvements in their situation under the current govt. |

There were none. I removed all links and the text is exactly the same as the text above, I just changed or altered sensitive words. |

Disguise sensitive words, and repost the same material, and see what happens. |

The bottom line is if you want the moral high ground in the soap opera of international fingerpointing, you better keep your nose clean, otherwise you are nothing more than a hypocrite (a hypocrite with a different ideology from the US, but a hypocrite nonetheless).
Despite the fact that Chavez was elected, he is well on his way to transforming his country into Cuba-style communism. So maybe it would be devoid of US influence, but I hardly think that is going to turn out to be the paradise he thinks it can be. |

*arco *ews. Maybe it goes through. Maybe not
Good, it went through. Now I'm going to post using the real words. If it doesn't show up within the next 60 seconds, it didn't go through |

Hey ...... your post won´t go through because of the accent characters and the name "coc*ine" that appears on it several times. |

Are you seeing accents, because I'm not. And why wouldn't it go through because of the word coc*ine? Is it a PC/Mac incompatibility problem? |

The host of peakoil.com does not recognize certain characters unique to certain spanish words(also german words), just as if it was in chinese, japanese or cyrillic characters. Usually they are over the vowels. That is what it is not recognizing, it's not censoring words.(that's the job of the monitors) _________________ In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

21st century socialism is not communism(certainly not soviet-style pseudo-communism).
The main difference between Western Capitalism and 21st Century Socialism is wealth accumulation vs. providing for the people.
With Capitalism, the a priori is competition; there are winners and losers, and if you lost, why should you get anything or "winner take all". (And all played out on an uneven playing field)
(I'm of course, being generous. In reality, TPTB fleece everyone else to the last penny they can get without triggering a revolution.)
With Socialism the a priori is sharing; everyone should be guaranteed food, clothing, shelter, education, freedom from slavery.
Which system would you rather live under? _________________ In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

Spot on Cid.
Kosovo was the first thing that sprung to mind when I read the article.
This pattern of automonous regions seeking independence from the larger country can only exacabate existing problems.
If things go according to plan in the Scottish Parliament then in 2010 they will have a referendum on full independence which could lead to the break up of the UK. _________________ "The age of excess is over. The age of entropy has begun" |
