How then, do we move backwards? How does a society, with most of the people having no clue of future events, move from being dependent on a vast and intertwined network of goods and services produced by the indigenous people of whereever, to a local resource and renewable energy based society, and do so in the timeframe available (20-30 years using the most liberal extimates, 10-20 with resonable estimates, 5-10 with worst case scenarios), all the while prices on everything increasing, world politics getting more militaristic, governments continuously reducing civil liberties, shortages of goods on the market and weather patterns resembling bad Hollywood movies?

Regarding vaccines, I highly reccomend Neil. Z Miller's "Vaccine Safety Manual" where you can read the well documented history of small pox and every other vaccine commonly given to children and adults, including what ever description you wish to give mercury or thimerosal.
When you say "they talk about mercury" you're picking on only the most publicised question regarding vaccine safety. It's not only this ingredient which causes alarm, every vaccine's components can include not only mercury and/or pseudo mercury (thimerosal) but also aluminium, not to mention animal proteins. Take a small dose of aluminum and combine it with the fluoride in your water or in the child's toothpaste (which they tend to swallow,) and you are effectively poisoning their unformed brain.
Anyway, for someone who seems to advocate discussion, you've copped out pretty soon.
