Important Updates

I think it would be a good idea for those that don't visit this site often to still, if they wish, be updated via e-mail about important events such as pipeline disruptions, peaking of a nation, falling short of projections, new field discoveries, collapsing of older fields, etc.

I would love to be able to get off of the PO addiction and concentrate on school, but I'm afraid I might miss out on something important and if I came back in a week or so, then I'd have to sift through hundreds of new threads to get to what I want to read.

I realize that this could be objective as to what constitutes "important", but any level would be nice. Perhaps we could have several levels- all important topics, very important topics, extremely important, etc. Then each member, if they so desire, could choose which he/she would like so as they wouldn't have to clog their email with topic updates they aren't so interested in.

This would include all topics of that certain level of important, not just ones to which the member replied, but also those he/she didn't reply to.

I like the idea. Like an e-mail list or something. Every one in a while I like a PO break to focus on the MSM. But they don't report on this stuff and I don't want to miss something important.

I think close to what you want is the XML RSS feeds at the bottom of the page.
