I notice the most outspoken opponent of this is Jerome Corsi -- remember him, of abiotic oil fame (and the Unfit for Command hatchet)? The others are mostly conservative groups fearful of immigration and labor unions, infowars.com being the big exception. I think this is a very bad idea, but not so much sinister as it is wasteful and very unrealistic. Stupid and sad that they're taking folks' farms away so they can dump a bunch of useless concrete over good land and continue the tower of cards. I guess the goal is to create a continent-long strip mall.

It will not occur because Americans have reliquished all political, economic, and military power to the Federal Government of the United States of America.
The new North American Union Allied Forces would immediately crush any serious separatist movement.
CNN ABC FOX and MoveOn.org would demand it.

Offer a $5,000 reward and 99% of the people on your street would knock down their mother running to call 1-800-REB-ELCASH and report that 'seperatist terrorist' in the apartment next door whom they believe owns an evil assault handgun.
Anybody who doesn't support the NAU will be characterized by the left and right-wing media as anaziwhowantstokillsixmillionjews, and thus deserving of Abu Ghraib style detention for some kind of trumped up 'conspiracy' charges.
