A big part of this problem centers around the thinking that future transportation in America will continue to be the personal automobile. Bush tells America that "automobiles will soon be running on water" - exactly what they want to hear.
Even if the numerous obstacles of a hydrogen economy do pan out, the automobile is unsustainable. Maintenance of the infrastructure and steel manufacture is simply too energy intensive. Americans continue to believe that "You can have your cake and eat it too, and what you can't finish, you can throw away." _________________ Jim Gagnepain
