Could you please give all the sticky posts the sticky symbol? It would be easier to spot them.

The posts that seem to be stickies are "prioritized" threads. They have no symbol.

What is the difference between those and stickies? They always seem to be right below the stickies.

We can "prioritize" threads into a order that they will appear on the page whether they are posted to or not. Announcements and stickies can also be prioritized in an order we wish them to appear.

Substitute "computer" for "television set" and the whole argument comes down to this:
