Speeking of that what are the cut offs, I always wanted to know....Not that I would spam to get my post count up or anything... |

THANK YOU!
Speed is a problem, but I know you're working on it.
500 is a long haul, anything small you can do in 250 increments? Some kind of token. There should be fission before fusion, perhaps at 2000.

On your front page news section, can you list the name of the magazine/newspaper/web site that the news is coming from.
Often I divide news into 1- people who already know about peak oil, 2- mainstream press that doesn't have a clue but are starting to figure it out and 3- Head-in-the-sand sources that will do anything to refute the facts. I like to know which group is writing the article so I can be selective about which article to read.
You list the source once you click on the article. It would be great to know the source before checking it out.
Thanks for all the great work folks- you're doing an incredible service! |

Thanks Monte, I actually get those email notifications now, I was hoping for this functionality on the results page of a search for all my posts.
BTW as of late last night my time, the dynamic aspects of the forum are not displaying in Firefox. I have had to switch to IE to view the site. _________________ "Ninety percent of everything is crap."

| I think this is an excellently maintained forum and resource. The only thing I particularly would like to see is an Antipodean Discussion forum next the American & European forums, to encourage local discussion in my part of the world. There are no unifying Peak Oil sites for the whole of Australia elsewhere on the 'net as far as I've found, just Sydney, and New Zealand, neither of which are as heavily trafficked as this site is. |

If we can find somebody to keep a new forum properly managed, it'll be considered.

A couple of things I would like to see from the perspective of a new user:
I like to view the new threads on the home page, but I find they tend to drop off fairly quickly. The new threads tend to have a lot of views until they drop off - if they could be increased to 20 without impacting too much on performance that would be great.
Also, in the message composition, it would be neat to have mouseover tags for all the icons so that it is easier to figure out exactly what each one does.
Thanks |

The icons do have mouseover tags. ??? _________________ A Saudi saying, "My father rode a camel. I drive a car. My son flies a jet-plane. His son will ride a camel."

Hmmm, so they do when I try viewing it in Internet Explorer - I guess Firefox just handles them differently. The alt tags for the emoticons are fine, but the "helpline('xxxx')" doesn't work in FF - wonder if it's something I can configure...
Not that it matters that much - it's not like it takes very long to figure out what all the buttons do anyway |

I'd like a 'Forums Filter' for the Forums List/View Posts Since Last Visit. I LOVE using the View Posts Link but hate having to avoid 'Hall of Flames/Open Discussion' ephemera.
I understand the need for these forums but I wish they could be put in some kind of anonymous closet where I could not have to weed them out of the good stuff
In my more draconian moments I think that the Hall of Flames should be a black hole.
Thanks for having such a great forum.
