Bill is being slated as hitting Bermuda, possibly as a Cat 4! He may make landfall up mid Atlantic, New England, Canada type way.

Quote:
The HWRF model predicts Bermuda will receive a direct hit at Category 4 strength. Until Bill interacts with the small trough at 50°W, it is too early to be confident of the potential threat to Bermuda. By Tuesday, we should have a much better idea of the threat. Likewise, I would like to see the UKMET model come around in line with the other models before dismissing the possible threat to the U.S. East Coast.

Possibly two years time. They have already used the 'B' for this year, and if I remember right alternative years are boys and girls, so at least two years for the B to be a boys name.

Canada being cued up by Bill still at hurricane force, Scotland and Ireland might get him as a tropical depression.

Looks like Scotland and Ireland my be getting clipped by the remenants of Hurricane Bill, its 5 day cone has them in its line.

Link to a big image of the 5 day cone.

The Canadian Maritimes however are likely to get hit with hurricane winds, not just hurricane force but a cat 1 hurricane. Halifax looks like being the biggest town on its path.

Its ultimate destination will depend heavily on large weather fronts steering it.

Ida has a chance to become something worth watching. Heading in the general direction of LA and MS with 70 mph sustained winds currently. I know we're all interested in Gulf hurricanes, right?

ok, now it's expected path has unfortunately moved west and its expected intensity has been upgraded. It should be a CAT 1 or 2 moving south of LA and MS

Yeah, here it is, past trick or treat time, and we get a trick. They are now calling for a state of emergency down there, in refinery land, not too far from offshore unloading territory.... Just delightful.....

This is growing fast.

Hurricane Ida headed toward oil and gas facilities in the central Gulf of Mexico on Monday on a path to the U.S. Gulf Coast after killing 124 people in El Salvador following floods and mudslides.

U.S. oil companies were shutting production and evacuating workers from the Gulf in the face of Ida, a Category 2 storm with top sustained winds near 105 mph.

Oil rose more than $1 to above $78 a barrel on Monday on fears of the hurricane.

Nov. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Energy producers in the U.S. have idled 29.6 percent of oil and 27.5 percent of natural-gas output in the Gulf of Mexico because of Tropical Storm Ida, the first storm of this hurricane season to disrupt output, the federal government said.

Not to wish any ill will on my offshore brothers but finally some good news for us Mid-Continent guys. :)
