Yes, everyone will be bailing before the 3 day weekend.

A lot of the volitility earlier was due to attempts to curtail the plunge. A massive amount of mystery money was pushed into financials, no doubt treasury action to support the banks.

Down over 500 now. Seems they couldn't stem the tide.

8000 looks to be a resistance level, up and down past it 3 times in 3 minutes...

There's probably a lot of black boxes programmed with buy orders at 8000. Once all the buys execute and the effect wears off, it will keep falling.

On August 3rd, 1492 Columbus sailed in search of....gold and spices.

He found it and he died a wealthy man at the age of 55.

The District of Columbia gets its name from him. America was even called Columbia by some in the early days.

Today America, the land of gold and honey, sits on the brink of economic disaster.

So in 500 years, what have we learned about the search for gold?
Let us ponder that this weekend.

Just incredible volatility right now. Moves 100+ points in the time span of a minute. As said above, last hour will be day, most days this week have seen major moves (all but once down) during that time period.

I really get the feeling that there is some serious pumping going on. A steady sell-off is occurring, but at points huge buy orders are placed, you can tell. Who the hell is placing those buy orders? Everyone knows you don't try to catch a falling knife, and the size of the buy orders is very conspicuous.

Silver dropped over $2 an ounce today, but no-one has any silver for sale at anywhere close to spot prices.

Hmmmm. Everything is sold, but prices dropping?

GOLD JUST DROPPED $60.00!

And bullion dealers are low on inventory. This is simply too strange for me to understand.

Can anyone explain to me why this graphic earlier from bloomberg showed we hit 7900, but now it doesn't

That seems a little messed up to me.

Can't explain it, but my chart service recorded the Dow at a low of 7891 about 5mins from start of trading.
