It seems a technical glich resulted in the death of the stock market thread. I'm starting this as a replacement.

Pretty big election day rebound so far. People talking on NPR this morning were suggesting that the market has bottomed and is in the midst of staging a sustained rally.
How long can this go on?
What are these people smoking?
Can I have some, please?

*wipes sweat from forehead* For a moment there I was getting worried.
Less than 3 hours left. Looks like it's going to be an up day. 4 consecutive up days....didn't think it would happen

SPG--
Thanks for starting a new thread I tried to post on the old one earlier and was quite bummed when it wouldnt work.
We are seeing a pretty modest election day rally. I think we will hang on to about a 200 pt gain today but i dont think we will hang on to it by the end of the week.
Next week reality sets back in and we should be on our way to retesting the lows around 7800 on the DOW.

Geez, you'd think the traderz were a bunch of Obama fans, or something. Something's perking them up, and I can't think of anything else that would.

If the current Elliott Wave predictions hold true, this rally will continue for a bit, and then the most recent floor resistance levels will be tested. Still shocked at the rally in the midst of chaos, though.

well according to divination by nephomancy, i predict DOW 10K by weeks end. however, my oujia board says buy goggle and we crash to 8K by tomorrow.
iam working on putting together a sophisticated statistical model that includes the results of all the various forms of divination as well the outcome of my world economic indices dartboard.

"Technical glitch"... mmm hmm... doesn't that usually translate as "Whoops! I hit the wrong button!"?

Oil skyrocketed today ...
I think maybe the mood isn't so much that Obama/McCain will be elected, its that BUSH will be GONE and his headmaster Dr. Doom Cheney... Thank GOD!!! Now we don't have to be the joke of the world anymore.
Gold also WAY up... over $30...
I bet we finish green...
up 200

The volume has been very light during this Obama 'sucker rally'.
Watch for a fast and furious selloff again in the next few days.

As I understand it, what happened was that Hogan requested to have his account deleted. Pops obliged him. Hogan was the author of the stock market thread, so when his account was deleted, it took out the stock market thread.
Not so much hitting the wrong button as unforeseen consequences of hitting the intended button.

Who cares about the old thread? It's ancient history. Screw it. The idea is to have a minute-to-minute "current news" thread, right?

I guess he got upset that people were more excited about the avitar than the posts? Nothing wrong with the posts they were excellent but how could they live up to the avatar??
Hope he comes back with a new name and is thus able to change the avatar without complaints.
