I doubt it. The Central Bankers will do everything in their power to save the credit markets and possibly the stock markets. They haven't done everything possible yet.

Also you have to remember. This is like any complex problem. Even if you have the broad outline of a plan there is actually the trouble associated with implementing it.

Think of it like a computer problem. Sure you know what you have to do generally now its simply a matter of implementing the specific parts and components.

The market could go down a thousand points again but remember the central bankers have a plan this week, they have goals and objectives. This is a huge improvement from a few weeks ago where they were asking: what do we do now? There are now key goals aim and move for, although I wouldn't say its half the battle its very important not to run around like a chicken with its head cut off. Having an objective creates focus and brings a solution closer.

Who knows this isn't to say that they'll have to eventually take truly drastic measures next week but for the time being I confident that the central bankers can begin restoring liquidity to the banks. Unfortunately all this takes time, even its a few days.

FTSE plunging, down 3.5% now. I won't take much for negativity and pessimism to hit traders once again, after the false glow of the government's digital money.

Just a thought, but in this market it is minute to minute!!! Look at those big end of the day drops... Even yesterday had a 700 point swing, but if you weren't paying attention you'd think it was just a regular day :)

I want to watch the collapse happen in real time.

This is pretty close:

Just click your refresh button.

And, of course, there's always those zany folks on CNBC to watch. It's become one of the most entertaining channels on the tube.

If you lose 2% or so each day then by end of week you're back where you were last Friday just about -just no panic. Then another leg down 1000 points next week or two and by Xmas there ain't much market left. The whole thing here has been panics due to credit market seizure, blow ups. A normal recession never had that stuff but the markets had orderly declines based on lower earnings expectations. If we could get back to that then it owuld be unimportant what the market is worth, if only the system works (like a slow car that at least runs wthout blowing up).

Yah. If you lose 2000 points in a "death of a 1000 cuts" its a soft landing. Lose it in a day and they call it a panic. Either way, if I hear someone mention "dollar cost averaging" it makes me start frothing at the mouth.

Huge sell off in Europe - main markets down around 7%, a bloodbath.
