okay I'm getting confused here. Is somebody going to to give me a nuclear power plant as a gift or do I have to pay for it? :?

I agree with that. I would also throw bankrupt bankers into debtor prison if I have powers to do so.
I trust you also would willingly pay for the cells to house all these debtors in your prison, for the guards to keep them in the prison, for the food to feed all these debtors in your prison and for the fuel to heat the prison as well? If you are not willing to pay for all this, than what do you propose to do with all your debtors?

1. I would try to keep numbers of inmates manageable.
2. I would organize some labor for them to keep down my and/or taxpayer cost.
3. I would replace excess of guards with chains.
4. I would substitute part of usual food with roaches flesh.
5. I would advise their families that any help would improve life of imprisoned and shorten duration of stay in prison.
6. I would develop alternatives for prison but any of these would ensure that creditors are paid as per contractual obligations of frivolous debtors

What do you do when 50% of your population or more is in debt? What do you do when all your complanies and all your banks are in debt? You wanna explain to me how you are ging to keep the number of inmates "manageable"?

Insofar as organizing some labor for them to keep down the taxpayer cost, let me refresh your memory. The REASON these folks are debtors is BECAUSE there is no work for them to do! YOu think making license plates is going to bring in a while lot of revenue here? Get real.

Your scheme is preposterous and won't work in a situation where a huge percentage of the population is in debt, where companies and banks are in debt, where entire nations are in debt.

You need to rethink your solution. It more full of holes than swiss cheese in a hailstorm.

Do you suggest that your government have forced you to embrace your unaffordable mortgage, car loan and/or CC debt?

My specialty was currency trade.
1. I was paying for those who wanted to sell hard currency far more than government did.

2. I was selling hard currencies to those who wanted to buy them by any means and yet was unable to purchase these from government because government didn't have them.

So where was a theft?

1. It remains to be seen, how many % will remain to be insolvent.
2. Insolvent institutions would be liqidated and their assets (eg. due debt) sold to those who pay most.
3. If more than 50% or whatever else proportion of population deemed unacceptable is left in debt I would abolish minimum amount of debt, equal for all in nominal terms, to leave a manageable proportion of population to face further debt servitude.
So for example reckless borrower owing $10 000 could get away with... but another one owing $300 000 could not.

Production first, safety last and we will make a profit... and many debtors threatened with such prospect could easily find a new job too :)

Nothing to worry about.
Just live within your means in the future and all will be fine.
Chinese or Russians will not dare to claim your land. :)

The popular notion is that we Americans are living beyond our means. I for one have no credit card debt. I have car payments on two cars which I am easily meeting every month. I have a little money in the bank and I have no mortgage.

My close personal friends and I are not living beyond our means.

We would resent any Chinese or Russian incursion and would tend to meet it with whatever force is necessary to repel it. Many of us are very well armed and some of us can shoot the heart out of a quarter at 100 yards.

Black Marketing or "Privateering" is going on right now. Silver for example has exited the mainstream market and has gone rogue. At the worst 3 months ago you could buy 1oz silver ingots at 30% over spot. This was the WORST. Today, most quote it at 210% over spot. It's not uncommon to have people quote a $9.15 1oz bar at $25.00 today. Once reason I postulate Kitco has stopped selling 1oz bars to the public is because they know they can sell it for more in "alternative" channels.

Now is this theft, or free market?

Well, that makes two of us then.

I did get a chuckle when that site ( Roger Dean Architecture ) claimed that it would "cheap and easy to build" this guy's fantasy structures. Maybe the shells would easy to pour (balloons with fiber-concrete sprayed on?), but the interior trim levels -- doors, windows, built-in furniture -- shown sure as hell wouldn't be cheap or easy to build well, with all those organic curves.

But it looks pretty.

Far as #3 goes, that would place most of the ex-wealthy in debtors prison, and most poor folks out on the street. I can live with that :-)

I'm not sure of the purpose of diverting the argument to discuss Nukes, rather than examine how realistic any of your proposals are. So far, they seem to make about as much sense as Ben & Henry fixing the Stock Market.

You seem completely fixated on the idea of either enslaving people or placing them in prisons with the most sub human conditions possible, eating roaches and doing jobs with low safety to I suspect kill off as many as you can while making some profit off them?

From where comes such a misanthropic viewpoint? You really think this resolves the problems? Hardly. I suspect you do not care about resolving the problems at all, rather you revel in the idea of the suffering of others. Rather a distasteful attitude far as I am concerned. I certainly wouldn't have anyone like you in my tribe.

Best of luck however in your pursuit of misanthropic fun.

See You on the Other Side. (I'll be the one looking down)

I am fixated on forcing peoples to stick to contracts which they have voluntarily entered and persist with that to any practically possible extent.

And you are fixated on solutions aka "lets allow Hugo Chavez to sell New York to Iran and use proceeds to pay for new Russian arms".

Now there is a heck of a leap in logic :-)

While in your posts you have mentioned how appropriate it might be for young women to sell themselves in order to avoid working in a Uranium Mine; while you have explicitly said imprisoning Debtors and feeding them cockroaches while forcing them to labor under unsafe conditions is your solution to this problem, NOWHERE have I EVER mentioned Hugo Chavez, selling New York to Iran OR using the proceeds to pay for new Ruskie Arms. LOL.

Please clue us in to your logic here. I cannot WAIT to hear the justification for this one. LOL.

I am giving away RICH people's money! If you have some surplus, I'll give yours away for you. You can thank me later.

You insist to manage instruments which are not belonging to you in attempt to create Hobbit nirvana.

Unfortunately life does not work that way and if your ideas were ever tried in practice, total chaos would result and you would still end up in uranium mine or some other awful place because anyone stronger than you are would feel free to usurp owning you, so you could be handed down a a gift to one of his friends. :-D

Heck, my wife would like to have a servant.
