I must admit this is probably the best little documentary style thing I have seen on peak oil. However.... "hybrid cars" to save us? It just sucks a little when a lot of what is said seems to "us" like the truth but then they go and put some crap like that in there, or something about hydrogen. Makes you wonder how much research they really did.

Either way I hope this show doesn't alarm all 1% of the people who would have watched it (if that, in Australia where it was made). I predict the more coverage peak oil gets in the mainstream media, the more events like "north korea missile test" or "terrorists blow up spain" will be "created" by our governments. I'm not sure what their end game is, because at some point they have to realize the truth. Either they know there is some "fix" and they are waiting on it, or they just want the next person who comes along to answer to the mob.

Come on polestar, you of all people should be able to see this. They want an Earth, will fully built out infrastructure, tons of long lasting nuclear plants, and...

a population of 500 million with environmentally induced low reproductive fecundity.

Wow, pretty good video, if peakoil not now, then definatly before 2010. Looks like some oil investments would be a good play but not yet, I think oil will be falling now for some time because japan has just said they will raise interest rates next week. PM's will go down too I think.

It's good that videos are being produced, books are being written, etc....
I just don't see many people actually taking an interest in PO.
I love the term "Sleepwalking". It will take something big to wake these people up...not a video, etc.....but something real big as far as oil is concerned (and the zillions of things connected to it). I only know and fear that when the bottom drops out most Americans will Blame the oil companies or the government and not themselves for waking up and doing something, refusing to do anything for themselves to adapt cause it's always been spoon-fed to them (us).

pretty good. but they did not stress the real proble.
In 1970's we hit peak and production dropped just a little.

and the whole country was SUDDENLY OUT OF OIL and they were producting 95% of what they always produced.

When it ihits it will be hard and fast and sudden, and we won't recover again. International tensions will escalate.


The eye opener was water cut

It showed a big well pumping away... and then they poured out its product, a bucket of 99% water.
they werent out of oil, they were just pumping 99% water.
