  • Bloomberg took an in-depth look at Fukushima, six months after the tsunami and nuclear meltdown. The article tells the tale of a devastated $3.2 billion-a-year farm industry, the desolate 12 mile no-go zone where 160,000 inhabitants have been evacuated and tourists that used to hike the mountains and surfed off the beaches are nowhere to be seen. Regardless of whether you fall into the pro- or anti-nuclear camp, the article is worth a read if you’re interested in seeing how that area has been affected.
  • Ford’s CEO said his company may manufacture electric cars in China.
  • Toyota’s next hybrid, called the Aqua, will be the king of fuel economy, netting 94 MPG (h/t to forum member Benny BND Cole).

So Ford is planning to make millions of electric cars in China. Presumably, the ships that will be transporting the lithium to China from Chile and shipping them back to the US will run on kryptonite instead of bunker fuel.

The US military needs to pull back from trying to be the policeman of the world.
It is time to stop spending so much money on the defense industry.

Maybe amerikans think its nice to gush at the US militaries recent love-affair with green-wash. But im not so sure, people on the receiving end of an F-16 bombing there town to rubble will feel a lot better about it, once they learn the plane is powered by a 50/50 blend of bio-fools.(Which incidently, will probably be why they are hungry and revolting over food shortages in the first place, since monstanto will have converted a sizable portion of the worlds foodlands to help power US M1 tanks and warplanes and whatnot)

But hey, maybe thats the idea all along. Re-direct food for Tanks and planes, make people riot, thus creating more ‘terrorists’ for the US to whip people into a frenzy, thus justifying deploying large amounts of all those eco-friendly US military units around to world to fight all the new enemies they have created. Sounds like a business plan only the pentagon or monstanto could come up with.

Really seriously though…an eco-friendly US military. Give it a rest alrleady…
