Hoarding is exactly what the government is doing right now by filling the SPR, and frankly it's the best thing that could happen. It drives prices up. High prices encourage demand destruction. They also finance new well development. The hoarded oil gives us a buffer to fall back on once shortages become more prevalent. High prices are what we need in order to adapt to what's coming, and the sooner they happen, the better.

I understand your misunderstanding. no we pump 84 million barrels a day and production is just about flat.
We have been increase (doubling time)every 10 years or so.
we have 2 trillion total
we used up one trillion now
doubling time takes the last trillion in ten years

(this isnot piossible - SO there is a 1 trillion demand and a 100 billion supply , what do you THINK is going to happen?

ALSO
as we start down the curve in 2 years we pump 78 million a day
in 5 years 35 million barrels a day
in 10 years most likely 20 million barrels a day

Hokey brighty, where does the nuclear war start?
we have less than 5 years, friend before (fill in the blank)
