Greetings Peakers, Just a quick update on the recent flood of new visitors.
A big ole' welcome to reality to our new guests, & a sincere thank you to our long standing members.
Peak Oil may well be the fly in humanities ointment, but as the old saying goes,

Oh what a difference a day makes.

And if the server was a bit quicker, the traffic figures would probably be a lot higher still.

Is there anyway of knowing if this was the largest day in PO.com history? If it wasn't, which day was?

I personally think that much of the credit should go to my wife for her eloquent doomer statements in the article. My hat is off to you my dear little Lumpster.

The graph is perfect.
Now it matches the graph for . . .
history of energy per capita
world population
natural gas prices
total bank borrowing from Fed Reserve
foreclosure rate
. . . things are lining up.

Why does it say "Most users ever online was 960 on Tue Sep 27, 2005 9:06 pm"?
Was there some form of stress testing going on at the time?
