Guest writes: Video Game Publisher THQ and Kaos Studios have announced the development of Frontlines: Fuel of War, the first video game that directly addresses Peak Oil and the reality of the impending climate crisis.
The plotline of Frontlines: Fuel of War, and the postulated world it takes place in, are speculative fiction extrapolated from the headlines of today’s news and non-fiction best seller list. The theory of Peak Oil, in which the mid point of the world’s finite petroleum supply will soon be reached, and hydrocarbon energy will become increasingly scarce and more expensive is geological science fact.
The game takes place ins 2024 and the premise is that America and Europe have banded together against Russia and China in a resource-based war for what is left of the world's oil supply. Frontlines: Fuel of War is set to be released in January 2008 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
